Expert tasting note: (2021 vintage) "Medium to deep purple-red. The aromas are savory with a dark-licorice fruit character & delicate leafy hints. Black-plum fruit is backed by earthy & concentrated black-licorice flavors. Acidity is fresh. The wine is of mid-weight but has concentrated fine tannins that integrate seamlessly with the fruit without being astringent. Balanced alcohol rounds out the finish slightly, but the wine ends long & lean with some tannic grip & licorice, tobacco-leaf & cedar hints." - 04/22 DCAMW
