The Pieroth Blue Edition occupies a special role in the Heritage Line. The unique blue bottle reflects an interesting historical aspect of the Nahe – the home region of Pieroth. During times when the glass was formed locally, the bottles took on a bluish-green colour. This was due to the mineral element in the local sand – primarily Cobalt. This unusual glass colour gave the wine bottles of the Nah region a differentiating feature even back then.
Pieroth embraced the idea in 1976, commissioning a royal blue bottle that has become a classic and a symbol of Pieroth in many countries.
